Creating Data Table

The dataset consists of responses for an agonist (drug) in two data groups (control data and data in the present of an antagonist).

Control Data

Data ( presence of antagonist )

*Conc. No.1 No.2 No.3 No.4 No.1 No.2 No.3 No.4
0.001 0.1 0.2 2.1 0.0
0.003 0.4 4.1 2.7 0.4 0.7 2.8
0.01 6.1 9.0 7.1 8.4 2.4 1.9 4.1
0.03 8.3 10.6 9.7 10.8 3.6 5.7 6.4
0.1   9.1 7.7 9.9 5.4 7.2 7.3
0.5         4.2 5.8 6.4

* : Concentration imMj

**: Values show response for each concentration of a drug.

The first step is to create a data table for the dataset in a spreadsheet.

1. Click a cell "A1" and open [Data]-[Create Data Table] menu.

2. Select "Same X" in the [X Data Type] frame.

3. Select "Mean, Standard Error of Mean" in the [Y Data Type] frame.

4. Set [# of Y series] ="2" and [# of Repetition] = "5".

5. Click "OK" button.

6. Enter "Conc. (mM)" in [B3], "Control" in [C3] and "+Inhibitor" in [E3].

7. Enter concentrations and the data for 2 Y series. Then the means and S.E.M.s are automatically calculated.
